Philosophy Education and Wave

Philosophy Education specialises in recruitment for London schools and education staff.  They began operating in January 2019 with a team of 4, growing to 15 by 2022.

As a small start-up, Philosophy Education wanted to build their tech stack slowly, starting with a website. In 2018, in preparation to launch the agency, Philosophy Education contracted RecWebs to design and build their website – philosophyeducation.co.uk .

Four years later, having grown the business from a team of 4 to 15, they signed on with WaveTrackR to post their jobs and then began to use WaveMedia to buy their media.

This is a story of a recruitment agency with big ambitions and a solid route to fulfil those goals. Suzie initially contacted Wave to solve one of their problems – needing a specialised recruitment website – and as Philosophy grew, Wave were able to help them grow.

A website that is easy to navigate, with a great job search

Suzie had been involved with the website builds at previous recruitment organisations so knew exactly what she wanted. Namely, an easily navigable website on which visitors can find the information they need quickly; a simple to use job search; and a team that knew what a recruitment website needed and how that might differ to other websites.

“RecWebs did it better than bespoke options. It was easy to look at what we needed, the price point was good, the job search is brilliant, the service was great. It was the ideal option for a start-up recruitment agency. People are incredibly complimentary about our website, which says it all.”

A multi-poster that helped them to scale

In Philosophy Education’s early days, they had the resources to post their jobs themselves. They wrote their job ads in RecWebs and posted them individually onto the job boards. However, as they grew, the number of jobs they had grew too and they quickly realised they needed a solution that could scale so they started to look for a multi-poster. Suzie looked at a number of solutions but the integration with WaveTrackR was so easy it made complete sense to stick with Wave.

“After trialling it by myself, we rolled it out to three more consultants and everyone really likes it. It’s straightforward to post and simple to use, which is exactly what you need as a busy recruitment consultant.”

Media buying that saves time and money

Having previously booked their recruitment media directly, Suzie used our Media Strategist to book in one of Philosophy’s contract renewals. This saved them both time and money.

“I was really happy with the service provided by Ruby in the WaveMedia team. She was hugely helpful and negotiated a brilliant rate for me.”

A 360 candidate attraction solution

By using all three Wave products, Philosophy now has a 360 degree candidate attraction solution, all through the same provider. This means improved communication, integrations and service. It’s something Suzie feels is really important for a busy recruitment agency.

“The tech itself is great but what really makes the difference is having one point of contact – one company to communicate with for any issues or questions. Again, it’s all about speed and simplicity. It’s vital for our busy agency to be able to operate and we get that with Wave.”
