Wave reached a new milestone recently by hosting our first ever recruitment event. Since Wave was founded, almost 20 years ago, we’ve been part of many industry events, from award ceremonies to recruitment expos, both from the job board and industry-leaders.
We’ve always felt that we had a part to play in the recruitment community, and Talent Matters is the start of a series of events where we share our knowledge and expertise with the industry.
Hosted at the Institute of Directors, our breakfast Talent Matters event had a mixture of guests. Recruitment leaders from companies across the country, talking about the current labour market and candidate attraction.
Kevin Green, Best-selling author of Competitive People Strategy, lead the conversation as the main speaker with a presentation on the current labour market and strategies for recruiters to attract and retain talent.

“Wave’s Talent Matters event was a great gathering of recruitment leaders. We explored trends and how recruitment businesses should prepare for the future. It’s was participative and engaging in equal measure, must attend addition to the calendar.”

The second part of the event had Dave Jenkins sharing data and advice from our job distribution tool, WaveTrackR. Equipped with this data, Dave talked about how recruiters can invest more wisely and get a better return out of their job contracts.
“Talent Matters was a great event. Brilliant time to discuss some of the current challenges in the industry and share with our clients how to attract more talent to their roles and businesses at a time when it’s really difficult to differentiate in the market.”

We finished the session with a Q&A, where all participants had a chance to join in the discussion of the topics of the presentations and the main takeaways.
With the success of this first event, we are already in the process of organising our next one for 2020.
