Meet the Wavers

As Wave’s founder, creative problem solver and ideas generator, Dave brings bucketloads of passion to the development and management of cutting-edge strategies to help clients improve performance. Dave embodies the ethos of the agency, that client service is everything and anything can be achieved if you put your mind to it.

Did you know?

Wave wasn’t quite Dave’s first business. At just 12 years old he set up a computer game mail order business. Unfortunately, school eventually got in the way of the business and it was another 9 years before he launched Wave. A keen boater, Dave keeps a boat on the Thames. If he’s not on the water he’ll be either playing football, practicing taekwondo or be watching his children play football, practice taekwondo, and a variety of other sports.

Wendy brought a wealth of finance experience to Wave when she joined the company as Head of Finance, overseeing Wave’s financial operations. Having been with Wave for many years now, she continues to be a huge asset.

Did you know?
When Wendy’s not crunching numbers, she’s a keen horse rider – she’s been riding horses since she was five years old and owned her own until she had her children. She also loves getting out in the countryside for a good walk but would always rather be travelling.

As Wave’s Marketing Director, Luis heads up the ever-busy Marketing Department. With his background in brand and design, Luis is at the forefront of brand strategy at Wave and oversees all Marketing-related projects, from our industry-leading reports, to our websites, to marketing material, to client work. Problem solver, creative mind, designer at heart, master juggler.

Did you know?
Luis didn’t begin his career as a Marketer. In his early life he was keenly interested in the sciences and spent 4 years at university studying biology. He then discovered graphic design, which brought him to marketing and he’s never looked back. Luis will happily admit to having a ‘tiny’ obsession with Lego – “I like building stuff” – and learnt most of his English when he was younger, watching American TV Shows.

As our Chief Technical Officer, Denis oversees all technical aspects and technological resources at Wave, including overseeing product development and tech innovation. Denis also manages the Development department in projects, both internally and externally.

Denis is a man of many hidden talents. He was a professional musician in a classical orchestra and not only has he lived in four different countries, he speaks a total of four languages.

With a vast amount of experience in digital marketing, SEO and PPC advertising, Kamila optimises WaveSites websites and client campaigns, as well as improving the online user journey. Through her reporting and site audits she delivers analysis that helps to increase conversions and website performance, as well as optimising sites for search engines to boost your ranking and increase organic traffic.

Did you know?
When she’s not digging into data, Kamila enjoys spending time outdoors, whether that’s walking, kayaking and horse riding on holiday, or running and cycling for charity. She will happily spend hours browsing through recipes and preparing food for friends.

Elizabeth designs the UX and UI across all Wave products, as well as creating bespoke website designs for clients. Having come from an art, design and photography background, Elizabeth is passionate about working through design challenges, meeting the brief and using her creative skills to produce beautiful websites that function perfectly and ensure that UX and UI is optimum across Wave’s portfolio.

Did you know?

Elizabeth enjoys all kinds of visual art, including photography, painting and printmaking. She also loves yoga and practices mantra-based meditation twice a day, which gives her creativity a boost! Elizabeth draws inspiration wherever she goes and has travelled extensively, including spending five months backpacking from the south of India to the Himalayas, a month with no electricity in the Peruvian Amazon and a year living and working (and hiking!) in New Zealand!

As our experienced Application Support Specialist, Merci is the first port of call when it comes to support queries. Always ready to help (and always with a smile on her face), she quickly responds and helps to resolve queries from our clients.

Did you know?

As a personal tradition, Merci reads Antoine de Saint Exupery’s The Little Prince every year on her birthday (chapters 26 and 27 of the book still make her cry every time!). She loves nothing more than to linger and be lazy in her free time so often goes fishing where she can sit, listen and wait. “There is always the excitement of a catch – then guilt for hurting the fish – and finally this sense of contentment when I let it go and watch it swim away.” One of the many things we love about Merci is that she listens to traditional Christmas Songs all year round, simply because they make her happy.

Polly leads the all-important support that ensures clients get the most from all Wave products from the moment they are onboarded and for the full length of time that they use the product. As a new or current client, it will be Polly’s friendly voice that you will often hear as she ensures that all clients are fully trained up on their new tech so that they can start experiencing the benefits straight away.

Did you know?

Polly is one of nine siblings! She was a vegetarian for ten years before breaking it for a pork pie. Much of her spare time has been taken up fully renovating a house in Wales.

Dino Halugić has brought extensive project management skills to Wave as our Digital Project Manager for WaveSites, working with clients and the WaveSites team to build professional websites for recruitment agencies. Dino has worked in tech for many years, including in job board software, so is fully equipped with a huge amount of knowledge on best practices for candidate attraction.

Did you know?

Dino loves music, mostly punk and hardcore punk. When he’s not listening to punk music, you can find him either on his CrossFit or playing old school video games.

With extensive experience in digital design, Janelle works on many of our RecWebs websites as one of our Web Designers. She works alongside our developers, creating bespoke designs that function beautifully.

Did you know?

Janelle is furmum to a beagle named Sushi. And yes, sushi (the Japanese food, not the dog) is one of her favourite comfort foods next to ramen. She adores travelling (as long as her wallet decides to join the adventure!).

As Wave’s Lead Developer, Aigars is constantly developing and improving WaveTrackR, ensuring that we’re always ahead of the curve when it comes to our tech. He also works closely with other teams to build and maintain RecWebs websites.

As one of our amazing Developers, Rui currently works with the Developer team across multiple projects but largely works on WaveTrackR development.

Did you know?

Rui’s biggest passion is his football team, Benfica, but he also loves to play and talk about football with friends. Watch out if you play football with him though, as he fully admits to being super competitive, especially when it involves games and challenges. When he’s not in a competitive mood, he likes to read Manga and watch anime.

As an experienced Developer, Denis works with the Developer team on a wide range of projects but primarily focuses on the build of RecWebs websites. He is an expert at taking design elements and ensuring they work perfectly as well as look great.

Lauris works closely with our designers, building world-class recruitment websites as part of our WaveSites team.

Jamila loves being outdoors and especially lying out in the sun, which is a good thing seeing as she lives in a tropical country! Her favourite food is mango, of which there is an abundance in her home country of The Philippines.
